Francesco De Maio Ceramica Vietri Antico Antiche Fornaci D'Agostino La Tavolozza Vietrese

An artists pallet, full of bright and sparkling colours, derived from the chromatic scale know to be used in the ceramics from Vietri, is the main characteristic of Ceramica Vietri Antico. The glaze, that characterizes the factory's production, preserves the secrets of antique recipes, according to local techniques of handmade workmanship.

The white "Schiuma di Mare", or Sea Foam, is reminiscent of the transparency of waves that wash along the shore. On the white base, with natural pigments added, a wide variety of colours derived from nature, are used, from Emerald Green to Acquamarine, and Green Agave, as well as Yellow Broom, Wistaria, Lavender and Bouganville Pink.

The contrasts become more noticeable on the horizon, passing from Sky Blue to the more distant Ultramarine, from Oak to Ipomea, where the sky blends into the sea. They blend like the sand of local beaches, rich grey-green shades, like Malachi Green or Blenda Grey, or Colcothar Pink, like the small pink pebbles that are illuminated at sunset, or like the opaque appearance of rock salt-white Byrite, or simple dark Blue Pyrite.
