There are many different techniques that characterize the ceramics produced by Ceramica di Vietri Francesco De Maio: the paintbrush technique by hand, distinguished by the irregular distribution of colours left by the paint brush, the sponge by hand, with transparent colour by using a sea sponge, silkscreen, which distinguishes from hand-printing, for the greatest possible uniformity and placement of colour. In this heritage of traditional workmanship, decoration by free hand, a complex and precious technique is the pride and joy of all the production of this company. The master decorators, in accordance with the traditional workmanship of ceramics of Vietri, trace the outline of drawings, the so called "filetti", done with carbon powder, on which the decorations are completed by painting directly on the hand made glaze "Bianco Vietri", when the material is still unfired.
